Joe Kuriakose is Business Development Director for GE Power & Water’s Distributed Power, a leading provider of power equipment and services. Distributed Power’s product portfolio includes highly efficient industrial aeroderivative gas turbines and reciprocating engines that generate 100 kW to 100 MW of power for numerous industries globally. Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Distributed Power employs more than 5,000 people around the world.
Joe has been with GE since 1996, having joined GE India on the Financial Management Program. Subsequently he was selected to join GE’s Corporate Audit Staff where he completed assignments at various GE businesses all over the world. Joe started his Business Development career at GE Insurance in 2000, located at the business’ headquarters in Kansas City, MO, and he spent the next five years working on a number of strategic deals. In 2006, Joe joined GE Aviation as manager of business development, and he was promoted to the BD director role in July 2007. While at Aviation, Joe helped structure, negotiate and close a number of acquisitions and joint ventures globally, including the $4.3 billion acquisition of Avio SpA in Italy. He moved to his current role in Distributed Power in July 2013.
Joe has an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Mysore in India and an MBA from the T. A. Pai Management Institute. Joe, his wife and two children live in the suburbs of Cincinnati.
